Le Détour

une maison d'hôtes en Touraine

The host has tested it for you,

une maison d'hôtes en Touraine

Carefully restored by Pauline and Paul, Maison Le Détour, located in the heart of Touraine, has preserved the soul of the original barn while offering the comfort of a warm, modern guest house.

Coming back, again, because it feels good

It's my landmark, my safe bet. I've already been there twice, once with child, once without, and each time I find the same feeling of obviousness.
Its location makes it an ideal stopover on the road to vacation, in the center of France. Pauline accepts one-night stays (which is rare), although I recommend spending at least two nights to really get the most out of it.

But beyond the location, it's the hosts who give this house its personality. When I think of Maison Le Détour, I think of Pauline's smile on arrival, and Paul's calm, caring face. A place is first and foremost an energy, and here, if we feel as good as we do, it's thanks to them.

The decor is tastefully thought-out, with raw materials, soft lighting and a soothing atmosphere. You're right in the middle of nature, with all the comforts of a well-executed renovation. And if you're a family, there's plenty of room for children, which takes a considerable load off your mind.

What makes this address even more precious is its quality/price ratio. Here, you don't have to break the bank: it's like being at home, with meticulous decoration, excellent service and a great deal of generosity. A rarity these days.

Another major asset is Pauline's cooking! For breakfast, there's always a home-made cake or a freshly baked pastry. In the evening, you can order a platter of local products: cheeses, charcuterie, wines... Sit out on the terrace, listen to nature, savour good food. For me, that's what happiness is all about: simple things, well done.

And if you feel like cooking, the kitchen is freely accessible, well-designed and equipped.

The region is full of treasures to explore, and Pauline is happy to share her favorite addresses. A particular favorite is La Cabane à Matelots in Bréhémont, a restaurant serving Loire fish caught by Romain Gadais and sublimated by chef Ambroise Voreux.
It's also impossible to cross the Loire Valley without visiting one of its many châteaux: Villandry and its incredible gardens, Langeais, or the majestic and peaceful Abbaye de Fontevraud.

Maison Le Détour is the kind of place you discover the first time by chance, and come back to again and again. A sincere, accessible and deeply human address.

Bellamant House

A guest house near Toulouse

Maison Hubert

An urban refuge for wandering tribes
