A colonial-style home restored with great care
The spacious rooms feature warm-toned walls and are designed to invite you to relax. The wabi-sabi-style bedrooms offer true comfort after a day of driving and sightseeing. The garden, the pool, and the shaded areas naturally become places to unwind, perfect for peace and rest.
The decor is tasteful without being ostentatious; the restaurant is a real success, and the staff plays a key role in creating the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Everything is just right, without being over the top. You feel right at home immediately.

What I loved most about this place was the perfect balance between a stopover on a road trip and a true retreat. Cedros is just a stone’s throw from Valladolid, making it an ideal stop to alternate between sightseeing and downtime. You can explore the surrounding area, discover the Mayan sites and cenotes, then come back to relax at the hotel, take a swim, and have dinner at the hotel restaurant, Casona de los Cedros.
From this location, you can explore Yucatán at just the right pace. Valladolid, Chichén Itzá, Ek’ Balam, and the surrounding villages offer plenty of opportunities for exploration. Cedros thus becomes an obvious stop on a road trip: a place to recharge, take a breather, and set off again feeling refreshed.
It’s a place I’d recommend whether you’re traveling as a couple, with friends, or on a romantic getaway. I still have very vivid memories of it, even though that trip was four years ago. It just goes to show that some places leave a lasting impression. I’ve even seen my best friends choose Cedros for their honeymoon, and I think that’s the best endorsement possible.
