Coming back... because it's a rare rightness
The first time, I walked in mostly out of curiosity. At the tip of Finistère, an imposing building… and, immediately, a warm welcome, floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto the sea, a gentle atmosphere. It was a no-brainer. Since then, La Butte has become my annual getaway. I return for the human warmth, the soothing energy, and that unique feeling that I’m truly being taken care of.

The hotel is a sanctuary for both body and mind. Whether I’m traveling alone or with a partner, I’ve always found it to be a cozy retreat: natural bedding, two individual duvets (a detail that makes all the difference), solid and fermented products, fresh fruit, a welcoming note… Every detail counts. And every time, that feeling upon waking up of having slept “just right,” of feeling centered and refreshed.
Dinner at La Table, a Michelin-starred restaurant, is certainly worth the trip. There, Nicolas celebrates life through a sensitive and committed culinary approach: fermentation, respect for the natural rhythm of the ingredients, and creativity. For a simpler yet equally generous experience, head to Le Comptoir, with its memorable seafood fondue, daily specials, and local regulars. Before leaving, I always stop by Le Fournil to pick up their crêpes… it’s a ritual.
And then there’s my favorite part: breakfast. With a view of the sea, a vibrant and generous buffet awaits me. Fermented yogurt, buckwheat pancakes, fresh-squeezed juice, farm-fresh butter… I let the staff guide me, as they suggest unexpected yet perfectly harmonious pairings. A truly memorable experience.
What I love about La Butte is also its ability to evolve. A new wellness space is opening this summer: yoga, massages, sound therapy… A natural extension of the experience, which I can’t wait to explore. Everything here invites you to slow down, breathe, and listen to yourself.
When we leave, we take more than just fond memories of Brittany with us. We take with us a sense of grounding, a renewed sense of balance. La Butte is one of those rare places where you feel truly welcomed. It’s a spot I recommend to anyone looking to treat themselves to a moment of peace, beauty, and human connection.

We’ll come and discover it for ourselves.
