The Camargue in its purest form
Les Bains Gardians spans four hectares, nestled between the Camargue landscape and the ocean horizon. A resort surrounded by nature, it features horses, stables, private arenas, swimming pools, a tennis court, a restaurant, a cocktail bar, and a program of art and music that gives the place a real vibe.
I have to admit, the Camargue is a region I’m particularly fond of. Even before you arrive, the scene is already set. Here, everything resonates with this culture, this light, this way of living in harmony with the landscape.
Guests stay in authentic herdsmen’s huts, nestled in the heart of a traditional Camargue farmhouse. With their pristine white walls, thatched roofs, and retro-rustic furnishings, they offer a complete immersion in local tradition, combining tranquility, nature, and a change of scenery.
The interior design, by Hauvette & Madani, strikes the perfect balance between a curated selection of vintage finds and a deep respect for the existing architecture. Nothing feels overdone; everything fits together seamlessly. The space tells a story without ever feeling static.
I especially enjoyed watching the light change throughout the day. From my room’s terrace, I watched the horses move about, spotted the flamingos, and felt time slow down.
We were also really impressed by the team at the Bains Gardians stable, who showed us the beauty of the Camargue during a horseback ride.
Les Bains Gardians strikes that rare balance between wellness and indulgence, in a setting that honors the heritage and culture of the Camargue. A distinctive, thoughtful destination where you can experience the Camargue from the inside out.
