The Host has tested it for you,

an architect-designed house facing the Aven

Maison Roz is a vacation home located in southern Finistère. We love its architecture, designed by Wunder Architectes, its atmosphere that blends contemporary design, Breton craftsmanship, and references to the history of Pont-Aven, as well as its spectacular view of the Aven River. It’s a place we left with just one desire: to return.

A view you never tire of.

Some places leave a lasting impression even before we stay there. Maison Roz was one of them. Ever since it opened, this place has been at the top of my list. And once I got there, the reality far exceeded my expectations.

Designed as a subtle tribute to Pont-Aven and its artistic heritage, the house blends contemporary furniture, Breton crafts, vintage finds, and references to the painters who have left their mark on the region. Each space tells a story without ever feeling like a static set. Everything is beautiful, but above all, everything feels just right. From the artwork hanging on the walls to the blue Hay chairs surrounding the large communal table, every detail contributes to the place’s unique identity.

We discovered Maison Roz during a weekend getaway with friends. As soon as we arrived, we were captivated by the view. From the terrace, your gaze follows the meandering course of the Aven River, the boats, and the shifting reflections on the water. In the sunlight, the colors seemed almost unreal, shifting between blue and green depending on the light.

Even though Pont-Aven—with its galleries, famous galettes, great restaurants, and scenic walks—is well worth a visit, what we really wanted to do was just stay there. To take in the scenery, share a cup of coffee, or put the world to rights while looking out over the water. We often spent several minutes just gazing at the view. And every time, we had the same reaction: “It really is beautiful.”

Maison Roz is the kind of place where everyone naturally feels at home. During our stay, some of us enjoyed the indoor pool or the sauna, while others read on the terrace, prepared lunch, or chatted around the large table facing the Aven.

From Codage products in the bathrooms to Bonsoirs linens, not to mention the welcome basket filled with local specialties, every detail has been carefully thought out. A trail leads directly from the property to the GR34, allowing you to explore the surrounding area on foot. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to recommend even before your stay is over. Thank you to Cloé and the entire Wunder team for their hospitality and for making everything run so smoothly.
